About the Business Support Partner
The EU SME Centre in China (EU SME Centre) is a EU-funded project that provides a comprehensive range of hands-on support services to European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), assisting them to establish, develop and maintain commercial activities in the Chinese market.
By offering support through the provision of information, confidential advice, networking events and training, the EU SME Centre focuses on the crucial early stages of SMEs’ market penetration strategy. The EU SME Centre's team of experts provides practical advice and support services to assist SMEs’ business development needs, empowering them with the real knowledge and tools required to facilitate their market access to China. While the primary target group of the EU SME Centre are European SMEs, its concept is also in line with the overall EU-China SME dialogue: Promoting EU-China trade and investment relations.

Our team of experts provides advice and support in four areas – business development, law, standards and conformity and human resources. Collaborating with external experts worldwide, the EU SME Centre converts valuable knowledge and experience into practical business tools and services easily accessible online. From first-line advice to in-depth technical solutions, the EU SME Centre's range of services cover:
Knowledge Centre: Containing over 100 comprehensive market reports, guidelines and case studies available to download from our website.
Business Development: Provision of market information, business development and marketing advice.
Advice Centre: ‘Ask the expert’ Helppdesk, with initial individual consultations and practical manuals. Saving your time, money and providing reassurance that you have the right information to support your business decisions.
Standards Information: Standards and conformity requirements when exporting to China, search tool for standard databases and guidelines on conformity assessment.
Training Centre: Industry and horizontal training programme, database on available training courses, advice on HR issues.Offering training programmes both face-to-face and online to plug the knowledge and skills gaps of SMEs entering the China market.
Hot-Desking & Meeting Rooms: Free, temporary office space in the EU SME Centre in central Beijing to explore local business opportunities.
EU-based SMEs. SMEs are defined as companies with fewer than 250 employees and which are independent from larger companies. In addition, they have an annual turnover of up to EUR 50 million or an annual balance sheet of up to EUR 43 million.
Other Sectors of Action
The EU SME Centre experts provide services for SMEs across different sectors, focusing on food & beverage, green technology, ICT and healthcare.
The EU SME Centre is funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium of six partners - the China-Britain Business Council, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, the French Chamber of Commerce in China, the EUROCHAMBRES, and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.
Membership and Fees
The EU SME Centre is not a membership based organisation. We provide first-line advice for free, and only charge for technical training and tailored solutions.
